LIS and QC systems
I have approximately 9 years of experience using GLIMS8. My GLIMS9 experience is limited: only about 2 years of actively working with GLIMS9. However, both software systems are very similar to eachother as GLIMS9 is the sucessor of GLIMS8. I have done some minor configuration in GLIMS8 and configured part of the GLIMS9 microbiology module of the lab I worked at before it was implemented. Unity Realtime was used as QC program for the whole of my lab career. I have some limited experience in adding new tests to this system.
Microbiology lab
This is my main area of expertise and have spent most of my lab career working in Microbiology. I have in-depth knowledge and experience with manual testing, this equipment and their software. This includes daily/monthly/yearly maintenance, configuration of tests and troubleshooting.
I have worked with the following equipment and their related software packages:
Equipment
- BioMérieux: Vitek 2 Compact, DensiMat, DensiCheck
- Bruker: Bruker MALDI-TOF
- Elitech: ELITe InGenius, Aerospray Gram
- Cepheid: GeneXpert
- BD: Bactec FX, Bactec MGIT
- 77 Elektronika: UriSed 2, LabUMat 2
Manual testing
- Inoculation of routine cultures (including suspect TB samples).
- Interpretation and examination of cultures according to SOP's in place.
- Microscopic interpretation of Gram stains according to SOP's in place.
- Inoculating and application of E-tests, ESBL, miniAPI, disk diffusion antibiotic testing, etc.
- Testing and interpretation of common diff tests such as β - lactamase, catalase, coagulase, etc.
- Testing and interpretation of rapid (antigen) testing such as Influenza A/B, RSV, Covid, Strep A, fecal parasites, occult blood, etc.
